Agency Respite
Imperial Valley Respite’s Agency Respite Program matches families with agency workers to provide short-term, non-medical care and supervision to individuals with developmental disabilities so families can have relief from caregiving responsibilities.
Families will have the opportunity to meet and interview with an Imperial Valley Respite caregiver prior to starting services. The agency caregiver will come to your home to supervise, help with daily needs, and ensure safety for adults or children with developmental disabilities.
Employer of Record Respite (EOR)
Imperial Valley Respite’s Employer of Record Program allows families to choose, hire, and supervise their own respite caregiver, while the agency manages all employment tasks (payroll, taxes, W-2, etc.). The family’s respite care worker of choice will be able to provide the same short-term, non-medical care and supervision to individuals with developmental disabilities as our agency's respite workers in order to provide relief for the family’s main caregivers. This means families are free to choose their adult-child or other relative as their respite caregiver.
Imperial Valley Respite will take care of all the administrative employer tasks, including ensuring the family’s respite caregiver of choice undergoes all required background checks, orientations, and onboarding processes as well as verifying employment status and paying all employer-portion payroll taxes.
Self Determination (New!)
Imperial Valley Respite proudly participates in the Regional Center’s Self-Determination Program and will work with families to invoice and accept payments from their Financial Management Services providers.
Specialized Respite Care
Imperial Valley Respite is proud to offer specialized Step-up Respite Care to California regional center clients of all ages. We offer services in both English and Spanish. Our Step-Up Respite Care is available for developmentally disabled individuals with stable conditions who do not require immediate medical intervention, but who may require a level of consistent, attentive support that is a step above routine respite care. Our services focus on safety, dignity, and family peace of mind.
Specialized Respite Care We Provide:
- G-Tube Care: Assistance with gastrostomy tube feedings
- Nebulizer Administration: Support with respiratory treatments and nebulizer use.
- Emergency Response: EpiPen administration and emergency protocol support.
- Medication Management: Assistance with medication self-administration.
- Seizure Care: Support for individuals with seizure disorders and emergency protocols.
- Blood Pressure Reading: Assistance with automatic blood pressure cuff use.
Personally Trained Staff - All specialized respite workers receive training by registered nurses in the client's home, tailored to each individual client's unique needs and requirements.
